INDONESIA
Medical Update on Survivor of Beheading – VOM/persecution.com
The sole survivor of a radical Muslim attack on four Christian high school girls has successfully undergone medical treatment. Noviana Malewa and her three friends were assaulted by a group of jihadists wielding machetes as they were walking home from school on October 29, 2005. Three of the girls were decapitated by the assailants. Yet, Noviana survived a severe slash to her head and neck in an unsuccessful beheading attempt. Pray the medical treatment will relieve the pain that Noviana has suffered. Pray when she calls upon the Lord, she will know He is near. Isaiah 55:6

INDIA
Police Detain Victims of Radical Hindu Attack – VOM Sources
As Arun Daniel and Dasrath, along with six members of their congregation, left a house prayer meeting, 15-20 radical Hindus with bamboo sticks severely attacked Pastor Daniel, Dasrth and other members, shouting slogans and making abusive comments about Christians and Christianity. The pastors, along with the victims, traveled 25 km. to a police station to lodge a complaint, but the police detained Pastor Arun, Dasrath and others at the station. Pray Pastor Arun and Dasarath will be comforted and strengthened by the presence of Jesus with them. Psalm 27:14

INDONESIA
Wounded Shepherd Leads Flock – VOM/persecution.com
Four years after receiving injuries from the explosion of a bomb left by Muslims near a Bible school he attended in Palu, a Christian uses the blast incident to encourage others. A large piece of shrapnel struck Tadeus in his upper left thigh and he was taken to a hospital where Dr. Bert discovered he had a pulse in his left foot and could move his toes. After many long and complicated surgical procedures, Tadeus is now walking on both his legs without the use of crutches. He is currently shepherding his own flock of believers in the dangerous Ambon area, where he is faithfully leading Muslims to Christ. Give thanks and praise to God for His faithful servant, Dr. Bert, and for the overcoming perseverance of Tadeus, bringing many Muslims into His Kingdom. Colossians 1:3-6

ERITREA
Government Orders Protestant Assets Confiscated – Compass Direct
This month the Eritrean government demanded Kale Hiwot Church surrender all its property and physical assets to the government. The raid closed down not only the church office, but also several humanitarian aid projects operated by Kale Hiwot, which oversees an orphanage and kindergartens throughout the country. Pray church members will continue to meet together, knowing God’s house is not made by hands. Pray those who are no longer able to be cared for by this church will remember the words of Jesus that were planted in their hearts. Philippians 1:3-6

CHINA
Five Christians Tortured While in Prison – China Aid Association
CAA has learned that after two weeks of detention, the police finally issued five of the 50 Christians who were arrested during a church demolition in Zhejiang Province, formal notification of “criminal detention.” The five are accused of “interfering with duty of police officers.” They were cruelly tortured during interrogation. Three suffered broken ribs. Female Christians were forced to strip in public. Pray our almighty God will protect them from further abuse and comfort them with the sure knowledge of His love. Psalm 102:1, 2

    Violence and conflict. Will it ever end? On one hand we have movies like “Lage raho Munnabhai” espousing Gandhi’s non violent views but real life is at variance with reel life.
